Home News is a boutique real estate agency, where the client is still king, and a lot of love and care is dedicated to his or her specialised needs. Home News is known as an agency with a loyal following of South African, German and other European investors.
Home News clientele includes sellers, who appreciate personalised service, qualified local clients, exclusive up-country buyers, and a stream of regular offshore investors. Home News focuses on servicing the Atlantic Seaboard, City Bowl and Southern Suburbs. In addition to that Home News has a very successful representation in Jakkalsfontein, an exclusive private nature reserve on the West Coast, one-hour’s drive from Cape Town.
Our letting department handles furnished, unfurnished and holiday accommodation, both short and long leases, and the quality of this division is second to none, where the interests of the landlord are carefully considered, and their assets looked after with real attention to detail.
The founder and managing director of Home News, Ursula Ehrentraut, has dealt in property since 1974, and has been in the Cape Town Real Estate industry since 1977. She is fully qualified and holds the C.I.E.A. and CRS qualifications, Commercial Diplomas and an Auctioneers Certificate. Ursula has always been deeply involved with all affairs of the profession. She gained many valuable insights during her decade of service to the Institute of Realtors - four years as chairlady of the Atlantic and City Bowl Area Committee. In 1985 she was also elected to the Ethics Committee of the Institute, on which she served for many years. Home News is now managed by her daughter, Monika Ehrentraut, an experienced senior manager and director, and as a fully qualified agent is rapidly building a reputation for her integrity and honest dealings with clients, both on the supply and demand side of the property transaction.
